about

Thinking back to a moment where you said something or felt something unrequited and then held onto that embarrassment, reliving it for what felt like an eternity. ‘Forget It’, is about deciding that it doesn’t require any emotional energy anymore, chucking it out to make room for new loves and cares. Musically, this song reimagines the traditional soft acoustic folk style within the soundworld of the cello and accordion as it takes us to a much more gentle and comforting moment of the album.

lyrics

You wanted to know how they felt about you
gave it a go and went in blind without a clue
but things didn't go the way you wanted them too
you let it slip it all fell out 'cause it was true.

You said it yourself that you'd regret it once you'd said it
You said it yourself that you'd regret it once you'd said it
So forget it
forget it
and move on, don't hold onto the pain for too long.

You're wondering now what this means for them and you
can you go on as normal like you used to do
'cause things didn't go the way you wanted them to
you we're hoping for an answer that they didn't give to you

You said it yourself that you'd regret it once you'd said it
You said it yourself that you'd regret it once you'd said it
So forget it
forget it
and move on, don't hold onto the pain for too long.

Move on, don't hold onto that pain, it wont be the same as it was,
for too long, don't hold onto that pain, you have nothing to gain from it now
and move on, don't hold onto the pain for too long.
